We were talking about this in the comments to my blog post ("Hmm, a second blog"). I think the question is, can this community system pull in a feed from an external blog and recognize a new entry or entries in the blog so it can create a corresponding activity entry that's shown on the main community page and your profile page.

Hi all, there have been a few comments on the blog import feature:
Sadly, there is no import mechanism right now, no. This is something that is being worked on. You can currently import your blog's RSS feed on your profile page with a RSS widget.

Nick, it all looks outstanding. Really excellent work. A few questions:
1. For the 'blog', anyway for a current blogger to show their existing content without replicating it?
2. Gadgets - I've somehow accidentally added one, and don't see any means of removing it.
3. I see a lot of great customization options, except the ability to replace the Titlebar/Header background image?

1. there's a rss feed reader on the lower left hand side of your profile page. You can bring your blog in there but there's no way to reposition the box so the answer is no.
2. go to the right hand side of the gadget bar and click. You should see an edit button. Just clear out the values and the gadget is gone. Or put the ColdFusion Community Search gadget in its place. :)

3. If you play with the different styles, some of them create custom css which can be hacked to do what you want. I have yet to hack a box reposition, but colors seem to work ok.

I added my twitter feed to the RSS... But a direct import would be nicer. I am NOT going to update my status in more than one place.

nice. hadn't thought about that.
but if i'm gonna be using this as my one central "base of operations" (which i'd love to do instead of twitter, pownce, etc), it'd be nice to not have to jump into twitter (or another external source) at all.
yes, i am that lazy :)

well, twitter has a lot of clients including for mobiles, so that's always going to be the most convenient way for me to update status.

Um, I think I broke it :)
Heh, I was trying to get Google Gadgets to display in the widget box... but now every time I click edit it takes me to the Ning homepage.
