About Me:
Robin Hilliard is a technical architect specialising in Flash Platform technologies, with an extensive background in enterprise level development and architecture roles.

At Andersen Consulting Robin was involved in several large Financial Services projects with clients AMP and Westpac, including customer service centre automation, distributed product origination and capture for financial planners, statement storage/retrieval and a Unix operational architecture design.

As a Technical Lead with Internet solution provider Zivo, Robin worked on web applications for Subaru and Microsoft, and built an innovative content management system for BHP Steel.

Originally joining Allaire as a Technical Support Engineer for server products in the Asia Pacific region, Robin moved into a Sales Engineer role with the Macromedia acquisition and played a key role in recruiting partners and evangelising Flash as a development platform. Robin became the technical face of Macromedia to the ANZ development community, and created some of the earliest public examples of media/data streaming and GIS mapping applications on the Flash/Flex platform.

Robin founded RocketBoots in 2004 to provide expert consulting and training support to developers working with Flash Platform technologies. RocketBoots clients have included Flight Centre, Samsung Semiconductors, Adobe, Hermes Precisia, Airservices Australia, the Department of Industry, ABC, Saatchi, TAFMO and Fairfax Business Media. Robin lead the promotion of the Cairngorm framework for Flex development in the region and continues to teach and present on Flex, AIR, ColdFusion and other topics. He is the coordinator for Adobe User Groups in the region and is an Adobe Ambassador.

Greetings! After the initial "not ANOTHER online community" I've started to wonder if maybe Facebook were right to sell out when they did.

The layout is accidentally good (I am a developer after all) and yet I am sinfully proud of the side graphic, I've started taking photos of interesting textures with my phone - this is a boat ramp in Pottsville, northern NSW.

I was thinking I haven't heard from you for a while, and that I should be asking you to do a CFUG NZ session sometime :-p
