ColdFusion WebSockets and Conflict Resolution

When you work with data centric application the first thing will come to your mind is data integrity with your client and make sure your client will get accurate data. That being said, I have updated my previous application to include proof of concept which eventually will lead me to create a complete conflict resolution engine utilizing client storage and server side storage (SQL).more..See More

Flex, ColdFusion, .Net and null values

There are a communication issues between three technologies together Flex, CF, and .Net. The issue is around null values and how each technology treating it.Flex support null values for String, Object, and Dates only as far as my knowledge up to Flex 3.5 SDK while ColdFusion does not support null values. When Flex passes the value as null to CF, CF will treat it as empty string and will not complain. When CF is passing object has null value to Flex, Flex will use local action script Value Object…See More

Configuring SSL to Work with ColdFusion and JRUN

Configuring SSL to Work with ColdFusion and JRUNAfter all the challenges we had in very unique architecture using Flex, CF9, .NET. Finally things are getting along, the most challenge we had was in converting .Net complex object to ColdFusion objects (beans) which I will blog about it soon. The other challenge was using CF over SSL; the steps below demonstrate how to enable CF over ssl. Thanks to Chris Stolp our network manager to put this together. If you are trying to use SSL with JRUN, there…See More

ColdFusion Webservices over SSL

We have been struggling lately to make CF web service call to another CF server on specific port over SSL. We have imported the certificate into Java keystore in {CF}\runtime\jre\lib\security\cacerts.Since it did not work, we also imported it into every other keystore we couldfind on the machine. Just to make sure, we also imported the cert and thecalling cert into all of the same stores. We were unable to make call over SSLto the web service from the web page. SSL works if you call each of the…See More

CF9 as Object Oriented Language (OOP) utilizing Service Oriented Architect (SOA).

As I promised, I’m attaching a simple project to demonstrate some OOP techniques, using inheritance, interfaces, components, constructors, common beans, and simple SOA.I have created 3 projects using CF builder, CommonCFLib, CFServices, and CFPresentation.CommonCFLib is a library more than a project to hold common business entities (beans/objects). CFServices is the actual service layer, think as a black box has entry point and output result that serves any request from presentation layer.…See More

"I really can't wait for CFScript to handle more capabilities of CFML though. Its lacking of support for things like cffeed and most other things is kind of a bummer."

ColdFusion 9 pays the bill

Since adobe swallowed macromedia, ColdFusion become enterprise level server technology. The most important changes since then are: CF is not limited to tag base syntax.CF is not limited to use custom tags or include page to serve reusability.CF become close to Object Oriented Programming language.CF is able to communicate efficiently with different technologies such as .Net, COM, JAVA etc.Flex integration with CFFinally eclipse base IDE ColdFusion Builder.I’m not going to list all new features…See More
